Packiam Arokiaswamy
Archbishop Packiam Arokiaswamy (20 February 1921 – 22 May 2003) was an Indian Catholic church leader who served as bishop of the Diocese of Tanjore. He was born in Kombeikadu and became a priest in 1946. On 16 January 1971 he was named Bishop of Ooty and was ordained on 28 March 1971. In December 1971 he was promoted to Archbishop of Bangalore. He was appointed Bishop of Tanjore on 12 September 1986. The Vatican allowed him to keep the title Archbishop, so he was known as Archbishop Packiam Arokiaswamy, Bishop of Tanjore. He retired on 28 June 1997 and died on 22 May 2003.
