Tom Hopper (footballer)
Tom Hopper is an English footballer who plays as a striker for Southend United in the National League. His full name is Thomas Edward Hopper, and he was born on 14 December 1993 in Boston, England. He is 6 ft 1 in tall.
Hopper began his career with Boston United, becoming the club’s youngest-ever player at 15 during a 2–1 win over Hucknall Town. In 2010 he joined Leicester City and turned professional in 2011. He made his Leicester debut in the FA Cup in January 2012 and was named Academy Player of the Season in 2012. He had a loan spell at Bury during the 2012–13 season, where he scored his first league goals, before a short loan at Scunthorpe United in 2015 and then joining Scunthorpe permanently later that year.
In 2018 he signed for Southend United, then moved to Lincoln City in January 2020 and served as captain from July 2022. He joined Colchester United in January 2023 and scored on his debut for them in February 2023. Colchester cancelled his contract in January 2025, and he returned to Southend United on an eighteen-month deal the same day.

In May 2015, Hopper and teammates James Pearson and Adam Smith apologised for making a sex tape during Leicester’s tour of Thailand; their contracts were terminated after disciplinary proceedings.
