Partner Institute for Computational Biology
PICB, the CAS-MPG Partner Institute for Computational Biology, was started in May 2005 as a collaboration between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the German Max Planck Society. It is located in the Xu Hui district of Shanghai, China. The institute studies the connection between theory and experiment in molecular and cell biology. Its setup and the recruitment of directors follow the Max Planck model, and PICB is an integral part of the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences (SIBS).
