Simpson point is a Paleo-Indian projectile point with a broad blade and a narrow middle section, giving it a distinct waist. It has a concave base and small, ear-like corners at the base. It was named in 1962 by archaeologist Ripley P. Bullen. Most Simpson points date to about 9,000 BC, making them a typical example of the Middle Paleo-Indian period (roughly 9,000–8,500 BC).
