Poecilanthe
Poecilanthe is a small group of flowering plants in the legume family. It includes nine species of trees and shrubs that come from eastern, southern, and west-central Brazil, as well as Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and northeastern Argentina. These plants grow in seasonally dry tropical forests, woodlands, thickets, and along rivers. In 2014, scientists reclassified some Amazonian species into two new genera, Amphiodon and Limadendron, based on molecular and developmental studies.
