Silver Screen Pictures
Silver Screen Pictures is an Australian film, media and production company. It started in 2004 as Silver Screen Productions and became Silver Screen Pictures in 2006. It was founded in Brisbane by director Alex Barnes and later joined by producer Justin Morrissey in 2009. The company mainly makes music videos, corporate videos, and documentaries. Its first major international project was the 27-minute documentary Not A Willing Participant (2009), about Indigenous Australian artist Vernon Ah Kee and his bid to represent Australia at the 53rd Venice Biennale. The film premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival in Utah and later aired on ABC in 2010. It also screened on Qantas in-flight entertainment and at the 2010 Dungog Film Festival.
