Myonessus

Myonessus, also known as Myonnesos, was a town in ancient Ionia, near Teos and Lebedus in Asia Minor. It stood on a promontory of the same name, and there was an offshore island also called Myonessus. The area is noted for a naval battle in 190 BCE between the Romans and Antiochus the Great. Today the island’s location is known as the Cıfıtkalesi Islet, but the exact site of the ancient town has not been found.
