Shane Blackett
Shane Jerome Blackett (born 3 October 1982) is an English footballer who plays as a defender for St Neots Town. He can play at centre-back or left-back.
Blackett was born in Luton and began his career with Dunstable Town, then moved to Arlesey Town. In 2004 he joined Dagenham & Redbridge and helped them reach promotion in 2006–07. In January 2007 he moved to Peterborough United with teammate Craig Mackail-Smith. He helped Peterborough achieve back-to-back promotions and made 35 league appearances, though injuries limited him.
On 22 July 2009, Blackett signed for his hometown club Luton Town on a two-year contract, with part of the transfer funded from proceeds of a Peterborough-friendly. He played 31 games in the 2009–10 season, including two play-off semi-finals. The 2010–11 season was hampered by injuries, and although he extended his contract in 2011, further injuries limited him in 2011–12. He left Luton in May 2012.
Blackett rejoined Arlesey Town in August 2012, then moved to Hemel Hempstead Town in December 2013 and helped them win promotion to the Conference South. In July 2014 he returned to Dunstable Town, and in October 2015 he joined St Neots Town.
Internationally, Blackett earned two caps for England C in 2006.
