Setagaya Castle
Setagaya Castle is the remains of a castle in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. The site is protected as a prefectural historic site.
- History: It was probably built in the Ōei period by the Kira clan and began as a fortified residence. The castle was expanded and fortified by Kira Naritaka in the Sengoku period. It later came under the control of the Later Hōjō clan and was demolished after the Siege of Odawara in 1590.
- Today: The site is Setagaya Castle Park, with nearby Gōtoku-ji Temple.
