Maribel Quiñones (also listed as María Isabel de la Cinta Quiñones Gutiérrez), better known by her stage name Martirio, is a Spanish singer born in 1954 in Huelva. She blends flamenco with modern styles such as jazz, tango, pop, rock, swing and guaracha, earning her a place among New Flamenco artists. She is known for wearing large sunglasses. In March 2021 she sang a cappella at a Royal Spanish Academy ceremony when Paloma Chen received a poetry prize. In 2019 she received the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts, together with Patti Smith.
