Servus Arena
Servus Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in downtown Red Deer, Alberta. It opened in January 2018 and can seat about 1,360 for hockey. The $21.6 million facility was built on the site of the former Red Deer Arena, which opened in 1952 and was demolished in 2016; some equipment from the old arena was saved and a neon sign was reused in the new building. Naming rights were bought by Servus Credit Union in 2017, giving the arena its current name. Construction began in 2016 and finished ahead of schedule, ahead of the 2019 Canada Winter Games. The Red Deer Vipers have used the arena since 2018, and it hosted group B preliminaries for the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup U-18 tournament (Group A and the later rounds were held in Edmonton).
