TowneBank Tower
TowneBank Tower, formerly the Norfolk Southern Tower, is a distinctive office building in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia. It was completed in 1989 at 3 Commercial Place, at the corner of Main Street, and rises 282 feet (86 meters with 22 floors). It served as the corporate headquarters of Norfolk Southern, a Class I railroad, until the company moved its HQ to Atlanta in 2021. Today the building houses TowneBank’s financial services offices and CHKD information offices. When Norfolk Southern had offices there, the first floor hosted the free Norfolk Southern Museum, which showcased the railroad’s history with photos, artifacts, a locomotive simulator, and other displays.
