SenseGlove is a Dutch company that makes wearable hand haptic devices for virtual reality, VR training, research and related applications. Founded in 2017 by Gijs den Butter (CPO) and Johannes Luijten (CTO), and based in Delft, the gloves provide force and tactile feedback to recreate natural hand sensations like size, stiffness and resistance when interacting with virtual objects. They’re mainly used for enterprise training in automotive, aviation, defense, healthcare and research.

The project began as a Delft University graduation project. The first model, the SenseGlove DK1, was an exoskeleton glove with finger tracking, vibrotactile feedback and force feedback, used for research and telerobotics. In 2021 they released SenseGlove Nova, a wireless, more compact version designed for VR training. In 2022 the DK1 helped power a winning Ana Avatar XPrize project, and Nova drew media attention for its advanced tech, though reviewers noted that haptic VR isn’t yet common in home setups. In May 2023 they announced Nova 2, which adds palm feedback for even more realism. Nova is wireless and uses magnetic friction brakes to deliver force feedback, along with vibrotactile feedback for button clicks, vibrations and impacts. Nova 2 adds active contact feedback to physically press against the palm based on virtual objects, increasing realism in training, research and social multiplayer experiences.
