In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend
In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend is the debut studio album by Finnish doom metal band Reverend Bizarre. It was released on 24 November 2002 and recorded from 18 March to 25 June 2001 at Red House studio in Turku, Finland. The album lasts 74 minutes and 9 seconds and was released by Sinister Figure, produced by Reverend Bizarre.
The album title is a homage to King Crimson's 1969 album In the Court of the Crimson King, and the cover art is based on Goya's 1798 painting Witches' Sabbath.
In 2004 the album was re-released with a bonus CD titled Return to the Rectory. A standalone vinyl version was released in 2011 by Svart Records.
Return to the Rectory was originally planned as an EP called Reverend Bizarre Blesses You with Fire, but it ended up as the bonus CD on the 2004 re-release.
The extra track "Aleister" comes from the recordings for Harbinger of Metal.
