Seetha (1990 film)
Seetha is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language thriller directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar. It stars Rahman, Kanaka, R. Sarathkumar and Gautami, with Charan Raj, Janagaraj, Manorama, Radha Ravi, S. Shankar, Srividya and Delhi Ganesh in supporting roles. The film was released on 14 April 1990 and has a runtime of 115 minutes. The music was composed by Vidyasagar, with lyrics by Vaali and Pulamaipithan.
Plot
Seetha, a village girl, returns home after studying in the city. Boopathy, son of the village zamindar, wants to marry her but she refuses. Enraged, Boopathy kills Seetha’s father, forcing Seetha and her mother to flee to the city. Boopathy continues to torment Seetha as she tries to start a new life. Police inspector Vijay (Rahman) helps her, and they gradually become friends and fall in love, eventually marrying. After their marriage, Vijay is arrested for a crime he didn’t commit. Journalist Jhansi Rani (Gautami) tries to save Seetha from Boopathy, while Rathnaraj (R. Sarathkumar), a corrupt politician and Jhansi’s husband, teams up with Boopathy. The story unfolds from there.
