Sasha Allen
Sasha Sierra Allen (born June 4, 1982) is an American singer and actress from Harlem, New York. She started her career as a backing vocalist for big artists like Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Leona Lewis, and Usher. At 14 she starred in Whistle Down the Wind; at 17 she signed with Elektra Records and later with Arista, though an album didn’t come together.
She acted in the 2003 film Camp as Dee and built a career in theatre and TV. She played Dionne in the Broadway revival of Hair in 2009 and in the West End in 2010. In 2013 she reached the semifinals on The Voice (Season 4) after auditioning with Not Ready to Make Nice and joining Team Shakira.
Allen expanded into touring: she joined the Rolling Stones as a backing vocalist in 2016, performing with Mick Jagger on Gimme Shelter. In 2020 she joined the Pussycat Dolls touring band. She has performed on world tours with Christina Aguilera, John Legend, and Babyface, and worked with many other artists.
She released the singles “Let’s Fly Away” (2008) and a cover of “One of Us” (2008). She starred as The Leading Player in a 2014–2015 tour of Pippin. More recently, she appeared in Gavin Creel’s Walk on Through Off-Broadway show (2023–2024) and joined MJ the Musical on Broadway as Katherine Jackson.
