Santa Fe Provincial Police
Santa Fe Provincial Police (Policía de la Provincia de Santa Fe, PPSF) is the police force responsible for Santa Fe Province in Argentina. Formed in 1864, it employs about 20,000 people and operates 19 stations. The headquarters are in Santa Fe, Argentina, and the PPSF is part of the Ministry of Security of the Santa Fe Province. The current head is Commissioner Luis Maldonado.
History: Early policing in the province was carried out by Majors and Councillors under the Cabildo, the old provincial government. In 1833 a regulation established the position of Chief of Police to improve provincial administration.
Organization: Since 2007 the PPSF uses its own rank system, including Director General de Policia, Director de Policia, Subdirector de Policia, Comisario Supervisor, Comisario, Subcomisario, Inspector, Subinspector, Oficial de Policia, and Suboficial de Policia. It is a local civilian police force.
