Sandefjordsfjord (also called Sandefjord Fjord) is a 9-kilometre-long fjord in Sandefjord Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It lies west of the mainland, south of the town of Sandefjord, and east of the Vesterøya peninsula. It is the longest fjord among Sandefjord’s four fjords. The water is wide at the north end and narrows toward the city harbour. The fjord contains several small islands, including Granholmen, and opens into the Ytre Oslofjord. The name comes from the nearby Sandar farm and parish (Sandeherred); Sandefjordsfjord simply means the fjord of Sandar. During the 1960s merger, some suggested the name Sandarfjorden, but the current name was kept.
