American Handgunner
American Handgunner was a United States-based bi-monthly magazine from FMG Publications. Founded in 1976 and based in San Diego, California, it focused on handguns, handgun hunting, competition shooting, reloading, knives, and other shooting topics. It had about 150,000 readers and carried ISSN 0145-4250. Editor was Tom McHale; Roy Huntington was a former editor. It was a sister publication to Guns and American Cop. The magazine ceased print publication in 2025, with the November/December 2025 issue marking the last print edition.
Content included reviews of guns, ammunition, knives, and shooting gear, as well as gunsmithing tips, historical articles, gun collecting, self-defense, and gun-rights alerts. Each issue also featured articles and profiles from people in the firearms industry, along with press releases for new products.
