Rick Bolus High Potential Blue-Chip Basketball Camp is a summer youth basketball program started in 1980 by Kentucky-based scout Rick Bolus. Based in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, the camp gives middle and high school players exposure and evaluation by college coaches during the off-season. Bolus had been a scout since 1973 with his High Potential recruiting service. The camps are usually held at Kentucky colleges, including Northern Kentucky University, Bellarmine University, Campbellsville University, and Georgetown College. The program was created to spotlight talented players who might otherwise be overlooked by recruiters. Blue-Chip camps have been covered in USA Today and the Louisville Courier-Journal.
