Oji Shiiba
Oji Shiiba, born July 14, 1996 in Aso, Japan, is a Japanese professional wrestler who works as a freelancer. He has wrestled for several promotions, including Dragon Gate, Dove Pro Wrestling, Tenryu Project, All Japan Pro Wrestling, Gleat, and Osaka Pro Wrestling, where he performs as a masked wrestler named Suzaku (often written in all caps). His real-life brother is Kotoka, who also wrestled for Dragon Gate.
Career highlights:
- Dragon Gate: Debuted on December 8, 2017 at NEX Sanctuary 160 in a singles match against Shun Skywalker (he lost). He took part in Gate of Destiny 2019 in a ten-man battle royal. His last Dragon Gate appearance was June 13, 2020, on Rainbow Gate 2020, in a six-man tag match that his team lost. He later took a long hiatus from wrestling.
- Return and Dove Pro Wrestling: Shiiba returned on December 18, 2021, at Dove Pro’s Bump Bump Revolution 17, losing to Kohei Kinoshita. On February 18, 2023, he won the Independent World Junior Heavyweight Championship, bringing the title under the Dove Pro banner. He briefly lost the title to Yasu Urano on May 31, 2023, but regained it the same night. He vacated the title on August 30, 2023, due to a knee injury.
- Tenryu Project: Debuted on April 2, 2022, at Osaka Crush Night in a losing tag match. He continued to appear in Tenryu Project events, including a November 12, 2022 Wrestle and Romance where he won a battle royal. On March 26, 2023, at Wrestle and Romance Vol. 11, he teamed with Takuro Niki to win the International Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.
- Gleat: Made his Gleat debut on June 5, 2022, at Face-Off: Access 2 TDCH 2022, losing to El Lindaman. He also wrestled at G ProWrestling Ver. 33 on September 10, 2022 in a six-man tag loss.
- All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW): Joined in 2022. He defeated Ryo Inoue on June 19, 2022, at Champions Night 4. In 2023, he competed in the Junior Tag League with Inoue.
- Osaka Pro Wrestling as Suzaku: Since October 2024, a masked wrestler named Suzaku has been active in Osaka Pro Wrestling. Many fans believe Suzaku is Shiiba. On December 29, 2024, Suzaku challenged for the Osaka Light Heavyweight Championship but did not win. He teamed with Hub to reach the semifinals of the Osaka Tag Festival on February 23, 2025. He then won the Osaka Light Heavyweight Tournament, defeating Ryuya Matsufusa in the final on May 25, 2025.
