Ryan Silvey is a Republican politician from Kansas City, Missouri. He served in the Missouri House of Representatives for the 38th district from 2005 to 2013, and then in the Missouri Senate for the 17th district from 2013 until he resigned on January 4, 2018. After leaving the Senate, he was unanimously confirmed to the Missouri Public Service Commission, where he serves today.

Born on April 17, 1976, Silvey grew up in Kansas City and attended Oak Park High School. He studied interpretive speech at Bob Jones University. He has a daughter and lives in Kansas City. Earlier in his career, he worked as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Kit Bond.

In 2013, he won the open Senate seat for the 17th district with 52.8% of the vote, defeating Democrat Sandra Reeves. He was endorsed by former Senator LuAnn Ridgeway, Rob Schaaf, other Republicans, and local Clay County officials.

The American Conservative Union scored him 89% in 2013 and 71% in 2017.
