Rules of the Game is a four-part British drama thriller that aired on BBC One in January 2022. It was created and written by Ruth Fowler and directed by Jennifer Sheridan. The series stars Maxine Peake as Sam, the chief operating officer of a family-owned sportswear company in Northern England.

When an employee is found dead in the company’s office, what seems like a suicide forces Sam to confront the company’s troubling culture over the past decade and a second death that follows. The show draws on themes from the Harvey Weinstein scandals, exploring power, consent, and misconduct at work.

Filming took place in Manchester, the northwest of England, and in Frodsham. The four episodes aired from January 11 to January 19, 2022.
