Indian Gandhiyan Party
Indian Gandhiyan Party (IGP) is a registered but unrecognized political party in Kerala, India. Its headquarters are in Aashin US Kuriyakott Building, Thekkumpadam Road, Pattikkad P.O., Thrissur District, Kerala 680509.
Led by National Election Coordinator Aashin US, the party runs several wings: Indian Youth Movement (youth), Women India Movement (women), and Plant 100 Trees (peasant’s wing). Membership is through the India Club. Its ideologies include Republicanism, Nationalism, and Gandhian principles. The IGP has an international link with the World Safety Forum and uses blue as its color. It is a registered party but is not recognized by the Election Commission. The party describes itself as part of a 193-country alliance.
In elections, the IGP contested the 2019 general elections, fielding candidates in 503 Lok Sabha constituencies. Aashin US himself contested the Varanasi seat against Narendra Modi and secured 504 votes with the campaign slogan “#IdevelopIndia.” Aashin also submitted a candidate form in Amethi against Rahul Gandhi, but the form was rejected. The party shortlisted 543 business leaders for the 18th Lok Sabha, with the first step toward this plan being Aashin’s contest in the 17th general elections.
