Asbjørn Øksendal (4 August 1922 – 23 May 2015) was a Norwegian writer known for both fiction and non-fiction. He was born in Mosjøen, Helgeland. He wrote several books about the Nazi occupation of Norway, including Lurøy-affæren (1966), Operasjon Oleander (1968), Når nøden er størst (1969, about POW camps in Trøndelag), Sluttspill i Rinnans bandekloster (1971, about the Sonderabteilung Lola), and Gulltransporten (1974, about the flight of the Norwegian National Treasury). He also wrote novels set in the Viking Age. He died in 2015.
