Riho Furui
Riho Furui (born April 10, 1991) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Hokkaido who works with Pony Canyon. Her music blends J-pop with gospel and R&B influences. Her love of music started early: she learned piano as a child, and after her mother took her to a gospel concert in Sapporo during fifth grade, she joined a church choir.
She studied English in Toronto from 2014 to 2015, a tough but life-changing experience that later inspired some of her songs. Furui began her indie career in 2016, releasing the song Believe. Her 2019 digital single Rebirth became a breakout hit and helped grow her fanbase.
Her first album, Green Light, came out in 2022 and includes the song Kirai, which she wrote after returning from Canada but released in 2021. In 2023 she released LOA (Love One Another), and her second album Love One Another arrived in 2024. In 2025 she released Hello, her first anime tie-up song, used as the opening theme for City: The Animation. Hello was written to be uplifting, easy to sing, and evergreen for listeners of all ages.
