Riek Schagen
Riek Schagen (Geertruida Hendrika Schagen) was a Dutch actress and painter born on 15 November 1913 in Amersfoort, Netherlands. She had a long career on stage, television, and in films, and she was also an artist with her own gallery called GaleRiek.
She is best known for playing Saartje, the housekeeper, in the popular children's TV series Swiebertje. In addition to television work, Schagen appeared in several Dutch films, including Doortje Verkerk (1947) as Trui, Ciske the Rat (1955) as Tante Jans, Fanfare (1959) as Aaltje, Hunted in Holland (1961) as Mrs. Van Helder, The Silent Raid (1962) as Wim's Mother, The Little Ark (1972) as Vrouw Brodfelder, Keetje Tippel (1975) as Geest, and Meneer Klomp (1978) as Koosje Klomp.
Riek Schagen passed away on 14 July 2008 in Vorden, Gelderland, at the age of 94. She is remembered for her contributions to Dutch cinema, television, and art.
