A Spark of Light
A Spark of Light is a 2018 novel by American author Jodi Picoult. The story takes place in a Mississippi women’s health clinic during a shooting. A police negotiator works to free the hostages, including his teenage daughter. The book focuses on the father–daughter relationship and the abortion debate. It runs about 400 pages and was published in the United States on October 2, 2018 by Ballantine Books (UK edition by Hodder & Stoughton; Canada edition by Allen & Unwin). The novel comes after Small Great Things and is followed by The Book of Two Ways.
