Rick Johnson (quarterback)
Rick Johnson (born January 21, 1961, in Wheaton, Illinois) is a former quarterback who played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He starred at Southern Illinois, leading the Salukis to the 1983 NCAA Division I‑AA championship. In 1984, he was drafted in the 2nd round of the Supplemental Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. He started his pro career with the Oklahoma/Arizona Outlaws of the USFL in 1984, then moved to Canada in 1985 to play for the Calgary Stampeders (1985–1988) and later the Toronto Argonauts (1989). He was a CFL All-Star in 1986. After football, Johnson became an actor and director, with roles in Point of Betrayal (1995) and Jerry Maguire (1996), and he directed the film Rustin (2001).
