Doug Faulkner (1942 – July 17, 2024) was a Canadian politician who served as the mayor of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Alberta from 1997 to 2004. He was born in Inverness, Scotland, and grew up in Bishops Falls, Newfoundland and Labrador. Before politics, he worked in the materials and services department at Syncrude. Faulkner ran for federal office as a Progressive Conservative in Athabasca in 2000, then switched to the Liberal Party for the 2004 federal election after the PC–Canadian Alliance merger. In 2012, he ran as a Wildrose Party candidate in Fort McMurray-Conklin. He lived in Fort McMurray and died on July 17, 2024, at age 82.
