Aleksey Bazarov
Aleksey Bazarov (born 14 October 1963) is a retired hurdler who competed for the Soviet Union and later Israel. He specialized in the 400 metres hurdles. He was the Soviet champion in 1990. At the 1990 European Championships he ran the hurdles and was part of the Soviet 4×400 metres relay team that finished eighth. He began competing for Israel and won his first Israeli championship in 1992, earning four national titles in total, including one in the 400 metres. He also competed in the 1992 Olympic Games, the 1993 World Championships, and the 1994 European Championships, but did not reach the finals. His personal best in the 400 metres hurdles is 49.33 seconds, set in June 1988 in Leningrad.
