Richmond Rebels
Richmond Rebels were a baseball team from Richmond, Virginia. They played in the United States Baseball League (USBL) in 1912. Their home field was Lee Park, which later became Boulevard Field and is now The Diamond. The team colors were steel-gray, white and black. Ernest Landgraf owned the team and Alfred Newman managed it.
The USBL existed only a short time in 1912, from May 1 to June 24, and none of its teams completed the planned season. The Rebels finished second in the league with a 15-11 record. The league had hoped for a 126-game schedule but it never happened. On opening day, May 1, more than 9,000 fans watched the Rebels beat the Washington Senators 2-0, with Arlie Latham as umpire.
