Riccardo Milani, born 15 April 1958 in Rome, is an Italian film and television director and screenwriter. He started in 1985 as an assistant director to Mario Monicelli in Let’s Hope It’s a Girl, and later worked with Nanni Moretti, Florestano Vancini and Daniele Luchetti. Milani directed his first feature film in 1994, the comedy-drama Auguri professore. He made his TV debut in 2001 with the miniseries Il sequestro Soffiantini. He is married to actress Paola Cortellesi. He is an atheist but admires Christian values. In 2025 his film Life Goes This Way will open the 20th Rome Film Festival on 15 October 2025.
