Honour Before Glory
Honour Before Glory is a Canadian docudrama from 2001. It was directed, written, produced, and stars Anthony Sherwood, who plays William A. White in reenactments. The film is based on White’s personal diaries and tells the story of the No. 2 Construction Battalion, Canada’s first all-Black military unit. They served in World War I but faced racism.
Music is by Victor Davies. The film runs 67 minutes and is in English. It premiered on November 6, 2001, and was shown on CBC. It has been screened for Black History Month, other Black Canadian events, and Remembrance Day ceremonies.
In 2023, Telefilm Canada announced that the film would be digitally restored under the Canadian Cinema Reignited program to preserve it as a classic Canadian film.
