Red Dog (short story collection)
Red Dog is a short, easy-to-read book by Nancy Gillespie, made from stories and poems by people from the Pilbara region. It tells the life and travels of the Red Dog. The dog's first owner was Colonel Cummings; later John Stazzonelli owned him, but Stazzonelli died in a motorcycle crash. Unaware of his owner's death, Red Dog wandered across Western Australia’s Pilbara region in search of him. Part of the book’s sales went to The Karratha Rotary Club to thank them for their help. The book includes pictures of Red Dog and a map showing the places he visited. It was published in 1983 in Australia as a 38-page paperback by Stockwell (Ilfracombe).
