1982 Adur District Council election

Adur District Council elections were held on 6 May 1982. One third of the council seats (15 of 39) were up for election. There were vacancies in Mash Barn and Peverel wards, but St Marys and Marine had no elections. The SDP-Liberal Alliance had been gaining seats from the Conservatives in previous years and kept control of the council after this vote. Turnout was 42.4%.

Results in this election:
- Conservatives: 8 seats
- Alliance: 6 seats
- Residents: 1 seat

Seat changes: Conservatives down 2, Alliance up 2, Residents unchanged. The Alliance remained the controlling group on the council.
