The Alaska Folk Festival is a yearly music celebration in Juneau, Alaska. It usually happens in April, lasts about a week, and all events are free to attend. The festival is run by The Alaska Folk Festival Inc., a nonprofit group supported by volunteers, donations, and membership dues. It began in 1975 and celebrates many kinds of music, with folk music at its heart; other forms of music are welcome, and some acts include dance and poetry.

Most acts get 15 minutes on stage, while guest performers receive 45-minute sets. There are no long setup times and no use of recorded music. The festival features solo artists and bands, plus workshops, dances, jam sessions, and singer‑songwriter showcases. Each year, artwork by an Alaska artist is used on posters and merchandise, including the program cover. All events are free, and there are no auditions, although acts must apply in advance.

Typically, there are nine concerts over the week and about 15 acts perform at each concert. All mainstage performances are broadcast live on local public radio (KTOO-FM and KRNN-FM) and online. The festival was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions in Juneau, held virtually and broadcast on YouTube in 2021. The 2025 festival took place April 7–13 and marked the event’s 50th anniversary.
