Take a Chance is a Canadian quiz show created by Roy Ward Dickson and adapted from his radio program. It was one of the first shows on CTV when the network began in 1961. The program was produced at CFTO-TV Studios in Scarborough, Ontario, and aired on Mondays at 9:30 PM Eastern Time.

Sheila Billing, Miss Toronto 1955, co-hosted the show. On its premiere, Toronto Star TV critic Jeremy Brown described it as “painful to watch” and “dreary,” saying it lacked structure, suspense, and substantial prize money. The show drew a large audience, with some 438,000 viewers sending in Chiclets gum wrappers, the program’s sponsor.

Take a Chance ran for five seasons, from October 9, 1961, to 1965.
