Pudhu Yugam (1985 film)
Pudhu Yugam (New Era) is a 1985 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar and produced by Shoba Chandrasekhar. The cast includes Sivakumar, Vijayakanth, K. R. Vijaya, and Viji. The screenplay is by S. A. Chandrasekhar, with music by Gangai Amaran. Cinematography is by M. Kesavan and editing by P. R. Gauthamraj. The movie was produced by V. V. Creations and released on 22 February 1985, with a runtime of 120 minutes. It is a remake of the 1980 Telugu film Mama Allula Saval. This film marked the first on-screen pairing of Sivakumar and Vijayakanth.
The soundtrack was composed by Gangai Amaran.
Reception: Kalki’s Jayamanmadhan felt the film had too many plots and that Sivakumar's role was not noteworthy, and that the antagonists looked weak. Balumani of Anna praised the acting, music, and cinematography.
