Yuvathurki, meaning Young Turk, is a 1996 Malayalam action film directed by Bhadran. It was produced by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation with Seven Arts. The stars are Suresh Gopi and Vijayashanti (in her Malayalam debut). Dialogues were by Dr. Rajendra Babu and Bhadran wrote the screenplay. Most of the film was shot in Delhi, with the Tapovanam sequence filmed in Udaipur.

The story follows Sidhardha, a Delhi-based youth wing leader who is jailed for the murder of Ambikaratnam, a woman leader of the ruling party. In Tihar jail, he faces brutal treatment and learns about a crime syndicate run by the jail’s superintendent. A Supreme Court-ordered reinvestigation is led by Akhila, a sharp CBI officer, who discovers Sidhardha’s innocence. Retired judge Justice Varma is writing a book exposing corruption in politics and bureaucracy. The rising star JK (Jyothikrishna) and his ally Dharman try to influence Varma. Sidhardha escapes, joins other reform-minded young politicians, and, as elections approach, uses drastic measures to expose the wrongdoings of JK and Somendra, delivering justice in the end.

Despite its big budget and high-tech filming, the film did not do well in Kerala, though it did very well in other languages—becoming a blockbuster in Telugu and a super hit in Tamil. It was released simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. The movie was later broadcast on TV, where it gained a new generation of fans. A Tamil version titled Delhi Diary was released by S. Thanu.
