Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the provincial government agency that handles natural and man-made disasters in the province. It works across all four stages of disaster management: prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery. PDMA KP was established on May 14, 2010 under the National Disaster Management Act, 2010. Its headquarters are in Peshawar, and the Director General is Sharif Hussain. The agency operates under the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and its website is pdma.gov.pk. In May 2019, after the merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the FDMA’s functions were transferred to PDMA KP.
