Protocol for the reconstruction of Hungary
Protocol for the Reconstruction of Hungary: An agreement signed on 14 March 1924 between Hungary and the governments of Great Britain, France, Italy, Romania, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia. It planned a gradual rebuilding of Hungary’s economy under the supervision of the League of Nations. The protocol had two declarations issued on the same day. Declaration 1 said the signatories would not threaten Hungary’s territorial or economic independence, and Hungary would respect the military terms of the Treaty of Trianon. Declaration 2 laid out the steps to reconstruct the economy, including measures to balance the budget by 30 June 1926.
