Proportioning valve

A proportioning valve is a device that uses fluid pressure to split and control braking force between different output lines. In cars, it lowers the pressure to the rear brakes relative to the front brakes during heavy braking. Since weight shifts forward when braking hard, the front brakes need more pressure; the valve helps prevent the rear brakes from locking and keeps braking stable.
