Taquarussu is a small municipality in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. It covers about 1,041 square kilometers and had a population of 3,588 in 2020, giving a density of roughly 3.4 people per square kilometer. The area is in the Central-West region and uses the UTC-4 time zone. About 21% of the Rio Ivinhema State Park (73,345 hectares in total) lies within Taquarussu; the park was created in 1998.
