Powhatan Township, Pocahontas County, Iowa
Powhatan Township is in Pocahontas County, Iowa. It was organized in 1866 as Nunda Township because some early settlers came from Nunda, New York. In 1867 the name was changed to Powhatan to honor Chief Powhatan, Pocahontas’s father. The township sits at about 42.8647°N, 94.6197°W (42°51′53″N 94°37′11″W).
