Ina Cariño
Ina Cariño is a Filipinx American poet. They won the 2022 Whiting Award for poetry and the 2021 Alice James Award for their first poetry collection, Feast, published by Alice James Books in March 2023. Cariño holds an MFA in creative writing from North Carolina State University and a BA in English literature with a minor in violin performance from East Carolina University. They are a Kundiman fellow. Their work has appeared in Guernica, Poetry Magazine, The Paris Review Daily, and other journals. In 2019, Cariño founded Indigena Collective, a poetry reading series that centers marginalized creatives in North Carolina and beyond.
