Polysilicone-15 is a silicone-based ingredient used in hair care products and cosmetics to absorb UVB light, helping protect hair and skin from sun damage. It is approved for use in the European Union in sunscreens and cosmetics, with its peak absorption around 310 nm. The product is marketed as Parsol SLX by DSM.

Chemically, Polysilicone-15 has a siloxane backbone and is a low-molecular-weight oligomer. It appears as a colorless to pale yellow liquid and is practically insoluble in water, but dissolves in some organic solvents.
