Sinsk Formation
The Sinsk Formation is a Cambrian rock layer in Central Siberia along the Lena River, Russia. It dates to the Botomian stage of the Cambrian (early Cambrian) and is about 60 meters thick. It lies above the Perekhod Formation and below the Kutorgina Formation on the Siberian Platform. The formation is notable for the Sinsk Algal Lens, a fossil Lagerstätte that preserved soft-bodied animals, though much of it has been damaged or destroyed by fossil collectors.
