Bhrashtachar
Bhrashtachar (Corruption) is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by G.P. Sippy. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Rekha, Anupam Kher, Raza Murad, and Abhinav Chaturvedi, with Rajinikanth making a special appearance and Shilpa Shirodkar making her debut. The story follows Purshottam, a crafty politician who wants to contest elections. A journalist named Bhavani Dutt, a police officer named Ashutosh Das, and a politician named Abdul Sattar join forces to stop him because they know about his criminal activities. Purshottam plots to destroy them in return. Bhavani is arrested for the murder of a prostitute; Abdul Sattar is accused of the rape and murder of a blind girl named Gopi; and Ashutosh loses his police job. In the end, Purshottam is brought to justice. The music is by Laxmikant–Pyarelal with lyrics by Anand Bakshi. The film runs 153 minutes and released on 22 November 1989.
