Lynn Peterson is a Canadian politician who served as the 7th mayor of Thunder Bay from December 1, 2003, to November 30, 2010. Before becoming mayor, she spent three years on Thunder Bay City Council and nearly 20 years in community service. She also spent four terms on the Lakehead District School Board, was chair for three years, and later became president of the Ontario Public School Boards Association. In 2006, she traveled to Toronto to help secure Thunder Bay’s Bombardier plant bid under the "Build Canadian and Buy Canadian" initiative. She was defeated by Keith Hobbs in the 2010 municipal elections. She is an Independent politician.
